Academy Classes
Welcome to Theatre Arts Academy & Agency
Established over 25 years ago, we are an independent part time theatre school
training and representing performers up to 18 years.
Classes are held in central Colchester and taught by industry professionals
who are dedicated to bringing out the best in every student.
Some of our student are serious and dedicated to training towards a future career in performance
and many have gone on to train full time at top Performance colleges, including
The Urdang, Italia Conti, Mountview, Arts Educational School,
Performers , Central & Bird College.
It's always an absolute pleasure to see some of our talented alumni realising their ambitions
and performing in musicals, pantomimes, theatre and television.
We love hearing all their achievements and following their careers.
Not every Theatre Arts student has ambitions to perform professionally as an adult.
Some of our students come to classes purely as a hobby, to meet new friends, build their
self-confidence & communication skills, and to enjoy enjoying performing to friends and family .
We value and support all our students regardless of talent, ambition or ability.
We foster a family atmosphere at Theatre Arts Academy, with older students and younger
students coming together at show time and supporting each other.
We also have student helpers from our Advanced group working alongside our teachers
to support our younger students each Saturday . This works really well and helps to
further create a supportive family atmosphere across the groups.

Agency representation and professional auditions
All students are automatically represented by our agency when they join the Academy,
unless they have specifically stated that they do not want to be considered for professional
auditions, or they are already represented by a different agency. Auditioning and working
professionally is a complicated business won't suit everyone regardless of how talented
they are. Having a working child can be a juggling act and the potentially have impact
on school work, parent's jobs, social life and other family members. All this should all be
considered before starting to embark on auditioning for professional work.
Having said that, working children and their families often have the most fantastic time,
and find that the joy, experiences and sense of achievement gained out weighs everything else.
We are here to help and advise parents, carers and children about all aspects of the industry.
